Is Code Academy Worth It - It saved my butt, allowed me to finish java ii and iii and get a cert offered by the school. I recently discovered codecademy and they have everything from free basic fundamental skills to full fundamentals of a skill like html, sq, python etc. Which is what i needed. But it's not the certificate, it's the personal projects. They also have career paths that teach you everything to do with front end, computer science/data science, full stack. I've learned a lot so far, but the python course was quite buggy and i feel like the courses end just as soon as i start to get the hang of whatever language or skill i'm trying.

I know that the website release also some certificates of completion that, for what i know, are accepted as cv in the field. I picked up codecademy after stumbling my way through java i at my jr college around three years ago. Take those free courses, and treat them like a code academy class. I've learned a lot so far, but the python course was quite buggy and i feel like the courses end just as soon as i start to get the hang of whatever language or skill i'm trying. I have already completed the free versions of code academy's python, ruby, and html/css courses and it's taught me a lot, and i'm starting the javascript course today. I remember back when codecademy was completely free as a kid, and it felt really basic. My professors gave us code with a couple variables to tweak and the code worked for each assignment.

From what i can tell from the courses, it seems their teaching philosophy has remained relatively the same, but with a little more interactivity, which is a plus. Don't think i have ever heard of a person primarily using this and getting a job free code camp. They also have career paths that teach you everything to do with front end, computer science/data science, full stack.
